Conference Facilitation

Today many organisations use the services of a facilitator from outside their company, to assist them with conferences, workshops and other important gatherings.

In using an external facilitator in this way, they are expecting not specialist knowledge of their company or the subject being discussed but someone who will bring a focused and disciplined process to the gathering. At the same time they expect that the facilitator will, in ways which internal participants simply cannot, ask the “silly” questions and trample on the "sacred cows".

Importantly they expect that the facilitator will ensure an equity of participation, harnessing the dominant personalities, controlling the more garrulous, and ensuring that the quieter, shyer or more withdrawn participants are encouraged to share their ideas, experiences and views.
