Thought
for this Issue “Every
new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.”

IN
THIS ISSUE |
This
Issue
Life
(and business) has been hectic. Somehow we’ve allowed several months
to come between this issue of AWAre! and the previous one (in February
2003).That’s not to say we haven’t had worthwhile things to tell
you. Rather, we haven’t had the time do so!
Time
is still tight, but we have just launched our new publications, Australia’s
Aging Workforce. We wanted to tell as many people about it
as possible, so this issue of AWAre! has been prepared with that
particularly in mind (although we’ve added another couple of items
of interest as well).
In
a few weeks time, we’ll be back with a more complete AWAre!
Until
then ……

In
the final years of the 20th Century Australia’s working age
population grew by an average of 170,000 a year. However, from 2020
the working age population will grow by only 125,000 for the entire
decade. This is not speculation, but cold fact. The implications for
business are profound. How is this shortage of workers to be made up? Regular
readers will recall that we have been actively working in this
fascinating area for some time and have previously offered some
resources. We are delighted that our publication Australia’s
Aging Workforce has now been completed and is available. To
read a synopsis of the book, check
this link to our website. The
book offers a comprehensive approach to the subject, with an analysis
of the problem and its implications, and a detailed exploration of the
challenges facing and options available to businesses, if they are to
manage these challenges in the coming decades. Importantly it is
highly practical in its approach and offers a number of useful tools
that organisations can use to help address the issue. So
far as we can see this offering is unique, and we commend it to
readers. |

Supporting
Consultancy Services Australia’s
Aging Workforce
is a valuable tool for organisations to use on their own. But we also
offer a range of consultancy and training services designed to support
organisations as they seek to come to terms with the challenges of the
future. Contact
us at any time to explore the possibilities. |

360
Degree Feedback – Individuals and Teams Among
the many services we offer are a parallel set of 360 Degree Feedback
Tools. Based on sound research, one tool has a focus on feedback to an
individual, while the other is designed for use by work teams, seeking
to measure their own performance as a team. Both
tools are easy-to-use and involve those providing the feedback in a
minimum of effort, always a problem with feedback processes of any
kind. Reports are produced in an easy to read graphical format. While
we encourage organisations to support any feedback processes with
appropriate training and support, the tools can be used in a “stand
alone” format, with price being very moderate. Contact
us to see whether these useful tools might be of assistance to your
organisation. |
